Mike Slifka, DPT, is a licensed physical therapist serving patients in Hermitage, Tennessee, with expertise in orthopedic rehabilitation, dizziness and vertigo treatment, and TMJ therapy.
A Nashville native, Mike was raised in the area and graduated with honors from Martin Luther King Jr. Academic Magnet High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete participating in football, baseball, wrestling, and track. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and went on to complete his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN.
Mike is a licensed physical therapist through the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) and has pursued extensive post-graduate training to enhance his clinical expertise. His advanced certifications include:
- Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT)
- Certified Dry Needling Specialist (CDNS)
- Certified Vestibular Therapist (CVT)
- Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) trained
He is also currently pursuing his Advanced Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (ACOMT) credential.
Mike specializes in treating a wide range of outpatient orthopedic conditions, with particular interest in:
- Dizziness and vertigo (vestibular therapy)
- Cervicogenic headaches
- Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders
- Orthopedic rehabilitation and injury recovery
He is dedicated to helping patients restore function, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life through personalized, evidence-based physical therapy care.
In addition to his clinical work, Mike has served as the Practice Administrator since 2023, playing a key role in optimizing operations and enhancing the patient experience across the practice.
Outside of work, Mike lives in Mt. Juliet, TN with his wife and their two daughters. He enjoys spending time with his family and staying active through golf, running, hiking, yard work, and beach trips. He is also an avid sports fan and enjoys cheering on the Tennessee Titans, Nashville Predators, Tennessee Volunteers, Vanderbilt Commodores, and Atlanta Braves.
