Dr. Marissa Mencio Bio

Dr. Marissa Mencio is a board-certified endocrine surgeon serving patients in Hermitage, Tennessee, with specialized expertise in the surgical treatment of thyroid and parathyroid conditions. She provides advanced, patient-centered care using evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each individual.


A Nashville native, Dr. Mencio graduated from St. Cecilia Academy before earning her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University. She went on to receive her medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. She completed her General Surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX, followed by an Endocrine Surgery Fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in Manhattan, where she received advanced training in complex endocrine procedures.


Dr. Mencio is Board Certified by the American College of Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). She is also an active member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, reflecting her commitment to excellence in thyroid and parathyroid surgery.

Outside of her medical career, Dr. Mencio enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband, whom she met in medical school, have three children and are closely connected to their extended family in the Nashville area. In her free time, she enjoys reading, walking outdoors, exercising, and exploring new restaurants and cuisines.
